Behind the Scenes: CEX Success Unraveled

Show of hands, who does research before going to a restaurant, hotel, event, etc.? We see you and we understand.

Your time is too valuable to gamble on an experience that might disappoint.

Good news: CEX doesn’t.

In fact, it’s designed to be an interactive event that brings together Component Relations Professionals (CRPs) from across all associations. Here, we build a community where peers share successes, challenges, strategies, and insights together.

CEX has always been an event for CRPs, by CRPs—but how we shape the content each year is intentional and grounded in what chapter professionals are experiencing right now.

Built on Insight, Designed for Impact

When planning this year’s event, we started by listening. We looked at what chapter professionals are telling us—what’s working, what isn’t, where they’re struggling, and where they’re seeing success. From there, we took a deeper dive into insights from our Benchmark Report, identifying key patterns and opportunities across organizations.

This year, we’re focusing on five strategic shifts that are helping components not just operate but truly thrive (see page 17 of the Benchmark Report). These shifts are driving the conversations and sessions you’ll experience at CEX, ensuring the content is practical, relevant, and rooted in real-world challenges.

We also know that sometimes the most impactful ideas are the simplest ones. A side conversation during planning revealed just how much people value quick, actionable tips—something they can take back and implement immediately. That insight directly inspired the creation of our Rapid-Fire session, designed to deliver concise, practical ideas from peers who understand today’s challenges firsthand.

Behind the Scenes: Where the Magic Happens (And Tears)

re:Members teams up with Mariner Management to produce CEX. This ensures that our team is planning the most enticing and beneficial event for you.

Our planning is all done virtually, with strategically scheduled meetings leading up to the event. During these sessions, we determine everything from promotion and logistics to timelines and speaker coordination.

For our virtual attendees, we partner with Matchbox Virtual Media to deliver a high-quality, engaging experience for those who can’t make it to Washington, DC. Through detailed planning sessions with our team, we map out each presentation to ensure remote participants receive the same value, clarity, and connection as those attending in person.
